English Proficiency

At Toronto School of Management, our programs are taught in English. Our Admissions Committee may require proof of English language proficiency from applicants who attended English language-based education systems. If your first language is not English, you must submit one of the following:

  • Successful completion of TSoM EAP level as per program admission requirements
  • Score from a recognized English proficiency test (eg. IELTS) as per program admission requirements
  • Official proof of a degree awarded by a recognized university where English is the language of instruction and where the university is located in a country where English is the official language
  • Certificate of completion from recognized ESL School which demonstrates an equivalency of required English proficiency
Students that have completed a minimum of one year of non-ESL full-time study at the postsecondary school level or a minimum of two years of non-ESL full-time study at the secondary school level in an English curriculum at one of the countries below are exempt from providing Proof of English.

Recognized English Language Schools


Toronto School of Management has established pathways with these English language schools. A certificate of completion from these recognized schools is necessary to demonstrate an equivalency of required English proficiency to be admitted to our programs.
