You will have 480 hours of guided learning hours followed by 240 hours practicum hours in an established business. The work placement will help you apply the theories you learn to practical business situations. We will help you secure your work placement by sending you for interviews.
We have also partnered with some fantastic organisations such as PwC and Manulife to ensure students have a fulfilling experience.
The modules include:
1. Introduction to Marketing and Branding
This module is designed to provide you with the necessary skills to build a customer profile and analyze the digital market. The module will enable you to understand the principles of digital advertising, the key elements of branding and competitive analysis.
2. Google SEO
This module will review concepts and processes on the internet, explain the meaning of a domain, how to purchase a domain, and assess differences in URL extensions, storage servers, and FTP files. You will learn how search engines work and what factors influence website promotion (content, seniority, links, load times, Google spiders, negative SEO). This module will also involve Online Reputation Management (ORM), market research and keywords as well as optimization. You will also practice site optimization testing and build a full optimization report.
3. Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a software for analyzing web site traffic. You will practice using tools, learn about account management and profiles, how to decode key reports, and how to define goals. The final part of this unit includes Preparation for Google Analytics Certification exam.
4. Managing Social Media Sponsored Campaigns*
This module is designed to provide you with the skills to set up and manage campaigns using social media, analyze differences between campaigns types and build a visual strategy. The module will enable you to prepare for the Facebook Blueprint certification exam.
5. Pay Per Click Marketing with Google AdWords*
This module will teach you how to create a Google AdWords account, rules for creating ads, use dynamic extensions, conversion types, and use conversion optimizers. You will learn about different types of bidding strategies, their advantages and disadvantages, strategy adjustments for business purposes and ROI tracking. Preparation for Google Certification exams - Open an MMC account a, go over sample questions and practice the material studied in preparation for the test.
On this unit, you will get hands-on experience writing web content. You will learn how to write blog posts, newsletters, emails and landing pages, display ads, Facebook ads, native ads and website content.
7. Work Placement
At the conclusion of the program, you are required to complete 240 hours of work placement in a suitable business environment. Appropriate business sectors for placement would include Marketing, Retail, Finance and Accounting, Not-for-profit, Customer Care and Administration. Activities performed will vary depending on the Work Placement site, however, key responsibilities include being supervised by a Placement host at all times, observing all workplace and school safety and security procedures, dressing appropriately for the Placement experience, interacting with the Placement staff respectfully, courteously and enthusiastically, learning about the work environment, and participating in the daily routine as required. Work Placement is part of your educational development. This enables theoretical learning in the classroom to be applied to practical learning situations and encourages application of theory and knowledge in appropriate context. You will be sent for interviews to secure your Work Placement. You must complete your practicum and submit your placement report to be successfully considered a graduate.
