Withdrawal Process

TSoM is dedicated to ensuring that all students are well-informed and have the opportunity to have their questions answered before making any final decision with regards to completing their educational goals while in Canada.

Students must follow this 3-step process to withdraw from their program, in accordance with the Toronto School of Management Withdrawal Policy

Please note that all module/papers registered and withdrawn after the appropriate withdrawal deadline will be counted as module attempts. Non-attendance of a module/paper does not constitute an Official Withdrawal.

Step 1

To start the withdrawal process, visit the MyTSoM Student Portal and complete and submit the Withdrawal Request Form (in the Academic section).

To support your request for withdrawal, please be sure to include all applicable supporting documents.

For example:

  • If you are withdrawing due to a visa denial, you will need to upload the visa refusal letter.
  • If you plan to attend another institution, you will need to upload the offer letter that you have received from the other institution.
  • If you are returning to your home country, you will need to upload the flight ticket.

Step 2

During the withdrawal process, you may be asked to attend a meeting with a Registrar`s Office representative. During this meeting, the representative will confirm your request and provide important information regarding your withdrawal request.

If you do not attend your withdrawal meeting or if you fail to provide the required information for the withdrawal process, it is assumed you are no longer interested in withdrawing, and the request will be put on hold until pending information and clarification are provided.

In either case, please keep in mind that there will be a change in the withdrawal processing timeline.

Step 3

After the withdrawal process is complete, your status within TSoM will be updated accordingly and you will be issued proper documentation regarding any completed modules/papers.

From this moment onwards, if you are deemed eligible, you will have the option to visit the MyTSoM Student Portal and submit a Refund Request Form.

For further details, please refer to TSoM’s Refund policy at www.torontosom.ca/students/policies.

Disclaimer for International Students

You must notify Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) regarding any changes to your Study Permit, which was initially issued for the Toronto School of Management (TSoM), a Designated Learning Institution (“DLI”), for which the Study Permit was obtained.

Withdrawal from your enrolled program will result in failure to comply with the conditions of the study permit as stipulated in Section 221 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (“IRPR”), and hence your status as an international student will no longer be in compliance as stipulated in Subsection 220.1(4) of IRPR.

Please refer to TSoM Withdrawal Policy  for details and the IRCC website for more information on your conditions as a Study Permit holder in Canada:  Your conditions as a study permit holder in Canada – Canada.ca
